Community Dental Health has been providing affordable dental care to underserved Coloradans for more than a decade, with a particular focus on older adults and individuals who face financial barriers to receiving needed oral health care. Since 2013, our program has received funding through Colorado's Old Age Pension program to help provide essential dental services to low-income seniors.
Over the years, demand for our services has consistently exceeded available resources. This year is especially difficult due to budget cuts decreasing funding support by 50%. As funding has declined while community need remains high, Community Dental Health continues to focus its resources on addressing dental disease, relieving pain and infection, and helping older adults maintain the oral function, nutrition, health, and dignity necessary for a good quality of life.Today, Community Dental Health operates two locations. Our Colorado Springs office serves El Paso, Teller, and Park counties, while our Pueblo location serves Pueblo and communities throughout southern Colorado. By maintaining fees based on the Medicaid fee schedule, we are able to stretch limited funding and make essential dental treatment accessible to individuals who otherwise may have nowhere to turn for care.
