M.D.L.A.Y.A.F.S. Inc. 18th Annual Family Togetherness Gift Giving Event 2025
, MOMMY & DADDYS LITTLE ANGELS YOUTH & FAMILY SERVICES INCSubject: Be a Holiday Hero: Sponsor a Wish and Make a Difference This Season
Donation Goal: $130,000.00
Project Overview
As the holiday season approaches, Mommy & Daddy’s Little Angels Youth and Family Services Inc. (MDLAYAFS Inc.) proudly announces our 17th Annual Holiday Wish Giving Program. This initiative is dedicated to bringing warmth, dignity, and joy to the lives of underserved seniors, disabled individuals, and low-income families residing in NYCHA housing, homeless shelters, and four nursing homes located across Brooklyn and Staten Island. We aim to reach at least 150 isolated and vulnerable senior participants who otherwise have no family or friends to visit or support them during the holidays.
This year’s goal is to provide not just gifts—but moments of comfort, wellness, and inclusion. Each senior will receive a thoughtfully curated gift bag including:
Educational games to stimulate mental agility
A warm blanket and personal pillow to provide comfort and avoid potential hygiene issues from shared bedding
A complete winter set (pajamas, slippers, and a robe)
Catered dietary-specific meals served buffet-style for those in nursing facilities
We will also deliver similar holiday gift baskets and warm meals to seniors in NYCHA residences who are unable to join in person, ensuring equity in our outreach.
Why This Matters
The individuals we serve are often isolated in long-term care settings or navigating housing insecurity. Many have no family contact and face medical or emotional challenges that increase their vulnerability during the holidays. This initiative is designed to remind them they are seen, valued, and deeply loved by their community. We believe it is our responsibility to lift their spirits and improve their quality of life—even if just for one special day.
What the Program Includes:
Holiday-themed community visits to 2 nursing homes in Brooklyn and 2 in Staten Island
Catered, senior-appropriate meals for all participants
Personalized holiday gift bags for 150 seniors and NYCHA participants
Delivery services to reach those who cannot attend in person
Volunteer engagement to support distribution and socialization efforts
Expanded Transportation Support
To ensure successful implementation, we are allocating an additional $30,000 toward transportation services. This includes:
Vehicle rentals and gas for delivery of gift packages and catered meals
Transportation for staff and volunteers to nursing homes and housing developments
Pickup and distribution of purchased gifts, supplies, and food items
Emergency transport needs on event days
