NAPLES, FloridaOur mission is to heal hearts and minds through rescue, sanctuary and education. Healing Hearts is our main program to do this in which we partner with organizations such as The Children's Network of Southwest Florida (foster kids), PACE Center for Girls, Youth Haven, Naples Women and Children's Center and Valerie's House (grief counseling). We've expanded to include grieving programs for children (Valerie's House and AVOW Kids), Human Trafficking (Path 2 Freedom), and Veterans (Home Base of SWFL). Participants come to the sanctuary to learn about the rescued animals who have also experienced abandonment, neglect and abuse and how they have recovered through love. This gives participants hope and starts them on the path to healing mind, body and spirit.
Shy Wolf Sanctuary, Education and Experience Center, in Naples, Florida, was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) Florida non-profit corporation since January 29, 2001. Founders Nancy and Kent Smith have been providing a home and sanctuary to captive-bred exotic animals since 1993 when they rescued Moondance, a three-legged Black Asian Leopard.
