United Way’s Neighborhood Zones help expand economic, health, and educational equity and are making a tangible and often life-changing impact on the stability and success of residents and the neighborhood. They are designed to:
- Identify community strengths, assets, and challenges.
- Break down barriers to housing, education, health, and economic advancement.
- Develop sustainable solutions for individual, family, and community success.
We believe stronger lives mean stronger neighborhoods—and that a united front can transform a community.
At United Way, collaboration is key to co-creating programs and initiatives that deliver long-term, positive change. We help residents realize their dreams using their innate strengths and the community assets they cherish. Each Neighborhood Zone is unique, with offerings driven by the input of residents, community leaders, and local nonprofits and businesses.
Focused on multi-generational support, Neighborhood Zones support social, economic, and educational advancement for students, their children, their families, and neighborhood residents in three neighborhoods – Brooklyn/Curtis Bay, Poppleton, and Columbia. Offerings include on-site Family Centers, housing and employment assistance, dropout prevention programs, mental health services, and more.
The goal: To help residents succeed—on their terms—by maximizing their innate strengths and the community assets they cherish.
Your donation to United Way supports Neighborhood Zone programs and services and will help us expand to other high-need communities.
