Special Operations Forces (SOF) personnel face an alarming prevalence of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) as a result of repeated exposure to blast waves, high-impact training, and combat operations. These injuries are often invisible, misdiagnosed, or left untreated, creating long-term challenges that extend far beyond military service. The effects of TBI include chronic headaches, cognitive decline, depression, and increased risk of suicide.
These conditions not only compromise the health of the operator but also destabilize families and weaken the broader communities to which they return. Despite the severity of this issue, existing systems of care are fragmented, underfunded, and often inaccessible for SOF warriors and their families. Conventional treatments frequently fall short in addressing the complex, cumulative nature of TBI, leaving many without a pathway to full recovery or restored quality of life.
Project R3con facilitates access for currently serving and veteran Special Operations Forces to cutting-edge stem cell therapy to treat the effects of Traumatic Brain Injuries.
