Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is the signature injury of modern warfare, and no military population bears a greater burden than Special Operations Forces (SOF). Years of exposure to combat, blast overpressure, and high-risk training leave many SOF operators with lasting brain injuries that often go undiagnosed or untreated. The stakes are profound: the VA has identified TBI as a significant risk factor for suicide, and the SOF community experiences suicide rates up to 30% higher than conventional forces. While suicide is a complex issue with many contributing factors, the convergence of these data points highlights a critical reality: addressing TBI may be one of the most impactful opportunities to improve long-term health outcomes and reduce suicide risk among America's most elite warriors.

These conditions not only compromise the operator's health but also destabilize families and weaken the broader communities to which they return. Despite the severity of this issue, existing systems of care are fragmented, underfunded, and often inaccessible for SOF warriors and their families.

Project R3con (PR3) is a 501(c)(3) national nonprofit that facilitates access for currently serving and veteran SOF personnel to cutting-edge stem cell therapy to address the effects of TBIs. PR3’s goal is to restore and protect brain health in Special Operations Forces personnel through regenerative stem cell therapy that harnesses the body’s own healing potential.

The cost to provide stem cell therapy for one warrior is approximately $10,000. Our leadership team personally oversees every case, guiding each operator through intake, coordination, engagement with US-based licensed medical partners, and follow-up care to ensure the highest level of service and the best chance of success.

When warriors heal:
Spouses regain emotional connection and partnership
Children have a more present, emotionally balanced parent
Communities benefit as warriors reintegrate with purpose
And perhaps most urgently, we combat suicide
