Rebuilding Together Litchfield County is a local chapter of the National Rebuilding Together nonprofit organization. The repairs and/or modifications allows people to age in place while living in their own home, independently in a warm, safe, and dry environment. We assist homeowners of who are seniors, veterans and people with disabilities that fall into the low or very low-income levels in Litchfield County. All repairs and modifications are completed by skilled, licensed and insured contractors, at no cost to the homeowner. Annually, on Rebuild Day, the last Saturday of April, the work is completed by skilled and unskilled volunteers with a licensed contractor overseeing all work performed. The amazing volunteers we have are what make our organization a great success. Our funding is from grants and donations only.
Since 2003 we have been listed with the State of Connecticut as a licensed, incorporated Charitable Organization as well as holding a General Contractor’s license. Both skilled and unskilled volunteers have donated more than 7,000 hours of labor completing repairs and modifications on more than 270 homes.
