Compassion for Others (CFO Ministries) is a human service nonprofit. We are also faith-based. Our ministry began in 2010 and is based in Charlotte, NC. All of those who work with CFO Ministries do so voluntarily. The work of CFO Ministries is biblically based on the commands that we are to love God first, and then we are to show love to our neighbors. Our organization operates upon the gifts and donations received that support this nonprofit work and are only used to support this ministry. Projects undertaken have been various and are those which most often provide daily life essentials such as food and clothing needs.
Ministry projects:
CFO Ministries has provided children at a local children's home with a Back-to-School event to help prepare them for their return to school; CFO has served individual families and has also conducted events to meet with and provide clothing and essential needs to as many as 30 families within low-income neighborhoods; in 2019, CFO Ministries worked in conjunction with Robeson County Government in NC providing essential needs to families that were impacted by Hurricane Matthew's flooding. Most recently CFO Ministries served throughout Western NC in 2024-25 to provide food and help to the homeless and to families impacted by Hurricane Helene. The ministry, since 2022 has provided financial support to war-torn Ukraine through our vetted ministry partner in the western mountains of Ukraine who serves the orphans and widows of fallen soldiers providing them essential needs. CFO Ministries has served our seniors and those suffering from Alzheimer's who live in a residential setting; military veterans and their family; unemployed single parents having difficulty raising children; and families who lost loved ones due to gun violence. In 2019, a member of our CFO Ministries board participated with a local church on a mission team and served in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
As Compassion for Others serves it is our desire that we will be the "neighbor" we are each called to be and offer hope and encouragement to those hurting and disadvantaged.
