Feed the People Atlanta (Feed Thee) was birthed from a vision given to Mr. Christopher Jones, during a dream. It was believed Feed Thee’s endeavor was to be a single project, with a sole mission to meet the hunger needs of the underserved. There were no immediate intention to duplicate the efforts of the food drive; however, Mr. Jones’ plans were not what ultimately transpired.
The initial goal was to raise Five Hundred dollars in Thirty days or less and purchase groceries that would be given to those in need. Feed Thee failed to reach the predetermined goal; however, the seed had been planted for the growth of a much needed organization.
Feed Thee has grown from a one-time project to a critical community based organization, utilized by hundreds of individuals on a monthly basis. Mr. Jones’ vision has multiplied exponentially and his commitment to his cause has been recognized by Thrive SS, Aid Atlanta, Impulse Atlanta, POZ Veterans, The Living Room, Studio 21 and The American Red Cross.
Feed Thee has dedicated itself to serving anyone who demonstrate a need for food within the Atlanta Metropolitan area. Many of the constituents Feed Thee services are living with chronic illnesses such as HIV, Diabetes, Cancer and/or are Unemployed, Underemployed or Homeless.
Feed Thee has partnered with Thrive SS to expand its reach throughout the Metropolitan area, and ensure that recipients will receive quality food that will be both nutritional and healthy.
Since the inception of Feed Thee in March 2016, Mr. Jones, along with the help of multiple volunteers and donors have successfully distributed in excess of 500 baskets of food to those in need. The goal of Feed Thee is to triple the amount of food being provided by the close of 2017.
