PROJECT REPORTS:
Aselsi Mission, Guatemala
KARIS expanded its support for Aselsi by funding two nurses to join a team supporting the Aselsi Mission in Chichicastenango, Guatemala. The visiting nurses provided training on current procedures and techniques to indigenous staff who run the Mission’s medical center. The training was impactful and Aselsi invited them to return to continue the training with the financial support of KARIS. In addition, KARIS President Nick Giancola led a mission team that built housing for a single-mother and her two daughters. The team also provided food for local outreach programs.
Freedom in Creation Mission, Uganda
Freedom in Creation is a Christian ministry in northern Uganda that works to bring healing to children forced into armed conflict and others impacted by the brutality of the so-called Lord’s Resistance Army. The Mission empowers youth and women with art therapy and entrepreneurship education, enabling them to bring vital resources to their communities. The organization operates a sustainable farm, which provides food, income and learning/service opportunities. KARIS provided funding for a much-needed water system to support the farm and the Mission.
PROJECT UPDATES:
Ministry of Jesus: KARIS expanded its support for the Ministry of Jesus program in Togo, West Africa, to include the purchase of land for a training farm where visiting church leaders receive pastoral training, as well as learning improved agricultural techniques to take back to their villages.
Capitol Hill Pregnancy Center: As the beneficiary to two successful KARIS Golf Tournaments, the Capitol Hill Pregnancy Center was able expand their operations to a second facility.
Mission Outfitters: KARIS funded the purchase of a workshop and storage facility, which will also serve as the base of operations for Mission Outfitters, thereby greatly helping the ministry to provide clean water and toilets to impoverished communities in Peru.
