Alma Mater is an independent narrative short film about a divorced, first-generation Latin American father who takes his two teenage sons on a ski trip to Boulder, Colorado—where he attended college in the 1980s. Over the course of the trip, he struggles to reconcile with a past that no longer exists, while suppressing a growing resentment toward his children.
The film deals with topics of Fatherhood, generational rifts, and the American dream.
We’ve completed principal photography and are now seeking support to finish the film in post-production.
The film stars Breaking Bad’s Steven Michael Quezada and is produced by KMT Films, an independent production company dedicated to telling culturally resonant Latin American stories.
With your help, we can ensure the successful completion and distribution of Alma Mater. Your support will also help KMT Films continue to develop a slate of bold, artist-driven projects that amplify underrepresented voices and push creative boundaries.
