Oakland HOPE is a volunteer driven, non-profit that started in 2012. Our Pantry aisles are stocked with canned goods, cereals, breads and desserts. We also have aisles with reach- in coolers stocked with protein-rich foods like milk, cheese eggs, yogurt, fresh salads, fruits and veggies. Freezers stocked with pork, chicken, beef, sausage, fish, plant based meats, frozen veggies, pizzas and ready meals. We also offer women's hygiene, incontinence and baby products. We even offer a pet-pantry too! This is the USDA model that has proven to eliminate waste and duplication of services. Over 16k families, seniors, veterans, and immigrants receive a wide array of protein rich quality food once a week.
Oakland HOPE has a proven, successful, and sustainable answer to food-insecurity. Proceeds from our Thrift Store is the funding mechanism that supports our Food Pantry efforts. We cannot do this work alone and are seeking funders who who are interested in our work and our next Phase WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT with KitchenCONNECT training program and incubator kitchen!
