Oakland HOPE is a volunteer driven, non-profit that started in 2013. Your support means families can redirect their grocery funds instead towards rent, utilities, and childcare, preventing crisis before it becomes homelessness. This is powerful…and this is HOPE in action. This is the USDA model that has proven to eliminate waste and duplication of services. Over 16k families, seniors, veterans, and immigrants receive a wide array of protein rich quality food once a week.
Oakland HOPE has a proven, successful, and sustainable answer to food-insecurity. Proceeds from our Thrift Store is the funding mechanism that supports our Food Pantry efforts. Looking in the rear-view mirror, much has been accomplished since we started Oakland HOPE in 2013. Looking into 2026, I feel as though our Mission has just begun. As we look ahead, the need remains great, and so does the opportunity! 2026 invites us to strengthen the foundation of Oakland HOPE, so this vital work is not only sustained, but expanded for generations to come.
