The Center for Development and Civic Engagement (CDCE) supports the VA's mission through volunteer and donation programs that are specifically designed to meet the needs of Veterans, caregivers, and their families.

As the administrator of the largest volunteer program within the Federal Government, CDCE provides professional volunteer management practices throughout the VA. VA volunteers enhance the care provided to Veterans by assisting staff and supplementing patient care and services in VA medical centers, outpatient clinics, Vet Centers, and State Veterans Homes (SVH). Annually, VA volunteers and partnering organizations contribute millions of dollars in gifts, donations, and volunteer hours. These programs and services are meticulously tailored to address the unique needs of Veterans, their caregivers, and families.
