The Center for Development and Civic Engagement (CDCE) mission is to strategically integrate VA volunteers, donations and community partners into VA operations so that they may supplement and sustain the care and services provided to Veterans, their families and caregivers.

CDCE supports the VA's mission by providing volunteer and donation support in the form of programs and services that are uniquely tailored to the needs of Veterans, caregivers and families.

CDCE manages the largest volunteer program in the Federal Government, providing professional volunteer administration practices for the utilization of volunteers VA-wide. VA volunteers assist Veterans by augmenting staff and supplementing patient care and services in VA medical facilities, outpatient clinics, Vet Centers, as well as State Veterans Homes (SVH). VA volunteers and partnering organizations annually contribute millions of dollars in gifts, donations and time. The programs and services provided are uniquely tailored to the needs of Veterans, caregivers and families.
