Ranch Hand Rescue operates three programs to support this mission:
1. We rescue abused and neglected farm animals with specialization in animals that are in critical condition and considered the “worst of the worst.” We then rehabilitate those animals so that they can be adopted into caring and loving homes or integrated into our animal sanctuary where they can live out their lives with dignity and respect.
2. We then incorporate those special needs animals into our trauma counseling program where they help improve the mental and emotional health outcomes for children and adults who have endured severe trauma.
The RHR counseling program can address the following: substance abuse, trauma/PTSD (including complex and developmental, sexual abuse, physical and emotional abuse, war time, and others), depression, anxiety, grief, loss, relationship problems, Veterans, at-risk youth, victims of trafficking, communication problems, neurodivergent individuals, and more depending on the presenting needs of each individual.
3. Our most recent addition is Bob's House of Hope, the first, and currently only, safe house in the country for young men who have been sex trafficked. Many people are not aware of this, but male youth (24yo and under) make up 40-45% of sex trafficking victims. They are also commonly victimized through drug and labor trafficking as well. Our comprehensive, wrap around care program offers the following services: Safe housing for up to two years, Access to proper nutrition, Access to Medical & Dental care, Access to Psychiatric and Psychological evaluation, Medication assistance, Single occupancy rooms with shared living spaces, 24/7 on-site care staff, Established routine and structured responsibility, Educational and vocational assistance, Access to hygiene products and clothing, Mentorship and access to community services, Individual and group therapy, Intensive case management, Access to spiritual and/or religious services, In house exercise programs, Staff and mentor led life skills development, and Assistance with improving Activities of Daily Living.
We also conduct trainings and community awareness efforts across Texas and the US.
