TECATE HORSE RESCUE

Tecate Horse Rescue (THR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to rescuing at-risk horses, mules, donkeys, and ponies in rural San Diego County. We provide immediate medical care, rehabilitation, safe sanctuary, and thoughtful adoption placement for equines recovering from neglect, abandonment, or trauma.
But our mission goes far beyond rescue.
Our herd becomes part of equine-assisted therapy, youth education, women’s wellness, and community support programs that help people heal from trauma, stress, grief, PTSD, and emotional hardship. Every horse we save becomes a partner in helping humans rebuild trust, confidence, and connection.
