DJH EXPRESS NATIONAL TRAINING ACADEMY
DALLAS, Texas
Our mission is to equip the formerly incarcerated and veterans with the necessary job skills and training, so that they can successfully reintegrate into society, after incarceration or deployment. The training academy is an intensive sector-based workforce initiative, focusing on education and job placement assistance initially focused on the transportation industry.
The Need
“Formerly incarcerated people need stable jobs for the same reasons as everyone else: to support themselves and their loved ones, pursue life goals and strengthen their communities” (prisonpolicy.org).
Veterans
The transition from military to civilian life can be challenging for some veterans. While most say readjusting to civilian life was very or somewhat easy, roughly one-in-four say it was at least somewhat difficult.
