VETERANS GOLF PARK FOR DISABLED VETERANS

The Veterans Community Center is a non-profit, self-funded organization privately owned and operated by Jim and Jeanne Rounsavell of Citrus Heights who purchased one of the city’s last surviving historical markers, the Old Sylvan Schoolhouse, in April 2013.

The Veterans Golf Park for Disabled Veterans was established initially in order to assist as a therapeutic measure for veterans to revitalize body, soul, and mind by the physiological and socialization benefits through golf. At present, affordable available land is still under assessment for the golf park. In the meantime, we have partnered with Mather Golf Course for use by appointment. The number of veterans and their family members who meet at the center for fellowship and other social activities continue to expand.

The center is run entirely by volunteers who devote countless hours of their time, skills, and labor efforts. To date, the center has received no government funding for operating costs consisting of renovations, maintenance, utilities and insurance, as well as resources and supplies to host our veterans.
