The Veterans Community Project (VCP) is on a mission to eliminate Veteran homelessness by
providing transitional-housing and enabling access to exceptional 360-degree service
solutions. Focusing first on the Greater-Kansas City area, VCP aspires to use Kansas City as
the blueprint for achieving similar successes in cities across the United States. VCP has a
long-term goal of eliminating Veteran homelessness nationwide.
VCP is a 501(c)(3) Missouri nonprofit corporation founded by Kansas City Veterans who
were frustrated by rampant homelessness throughout the Veteran community. VCP is a team
of connectors, feelers, and doers on a mission to help our kin, our kind. We move with swift,
bold action, always motivated to serve with compassion.
VCP is determined to fulfill the unmet needs of homeless Veterans, a task accomplished only
by the community for the community. VCP’s four pillars of service are:
1) End Veteran Homelessness
2) Never Say No to a Veteran in Need
3) Connect Veterans to their Community
4) Connect Community to their Veterans
Veterans Village
Through contributions and partnerships, we are creating Veterans Village. A community of
tiny-homes and onsite services to provide housing stability and address the underlying cause
of the Veteran’s homelessness. This combination of housing stability and onsite services will
lead to more successful permanent housing outcomes. Once ready, the Veteran will transition
to other existing programs.
In contrast to traditional homeless services; a tiny-home provides the Veteran with privacy, a
sense of security, and the ability to reintegrate at a comfortable pace. Services are
administered through an onsite community center that provides mentoring, case
management, counseling, and linkage to other programs and services.
At the heart of Veterans Community Project is a belief in community. Through the power of
community, VCP will provide Veterans the tools necessary to achieve a stable and
prosperous civilian life. Housing and services are provided at no cost to the Veteran.
Therefore the success of Veterans Community project is contingent on the generosity of the
community. To donate, volunteer, or learn more, please visit veteranscommunityproject.org
