Moretta Community Development Foundation (MCDF) is a California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit advancing financial security, housing stability, and opportunity for families and communities—especially those historically excluded from wealth-building systems.
What we do.
MCDF delivers culturally responsive education, coaching, and resource navigation that helps people move from financial stress to stability—and from housing insecurity to a realistic pathway toward safe, sustainable housing and homeownership.
Signature focus: House to HOME (Home Ownership Mentoring & Education)
House to HOME is MCDF’s core housing and financial capability initiative. We meet people where they are—renters, aspiring first-time buyers, and families recovering from financial shocks—and provide step-by-step support to strengthen credit, build savings habits, reduce debt, and prepare for housing decisions.
Core services and supports.
• Financial education & coaching: budgeting, banking, savings, debt reduction, credit-building, consumer protection, and goal planning.
• Homebuyer readiness: the homebuying process, mortgage basics, affordability, documentation preparation, and pathways to down payment/closing cost assistance (where available).
• Housing stability navigation: resource referrals and coaching to help prevent displacement, understand tenant protections, and connect to local housing supports.
• Healthy homes & resilience: practical education on home maintenance, energy efficiency, and long-term sustainability so families can thrive after securing housing.
• Community partnerships & advocacy: convening trusted partners to expand access to affordable housing, financial inclusion, and equitable opportunity.
Why it matters.
Housing costs, credit barriers, and limited access to trustworthy financial guidance continue to block economic mobility. MCDF helps close these gaps by turning complex systems into clear steps—so families can build stability, dignity, and a stronger foundation for generational well-being.
How corporate partners can help.
Corporate and employee giving fuels education cohorts, one-on-one coaching, resource navigation, and community workshops. Partners can also support volunteer engagement (financial coaching, career talks, mentorship) and sponsor community learning events that expand reach in the Inland Empire and beyond.
