Rosie Registry Project
チャリティ活動名 MICHIGAN ROSIES (ROSIE THE RIVETER ASSOCIATION OF MICHIGAN)Do you have a Rosie the Riveter in the family?
Include her in our Rosie Registry so her name and service are preserved for history!
We are registering Rosies, living and passed, from all of the United States and its Territories to preserve their names and their service during WWII. Rosies from Allied countries count, too! (Britain, Canada, etc.)
To qualify, your Rosie must have worked or volunteered in a way that contributed to the Allied war effort during World War II, 1941-1945.
Keep in mind that Rosie the Riveter encompasses any woman who during WWII worked in the defense industry, or worked for the wartime government, or served in the armed forces, or took over what was formerly a "man's job" to keep things running at home while the men were fighting overseas. Many women did important volunteer work during the war, and ALL of these women are considered to be Rosie the Riveter! The term Rosie the Riveter includes women, who during WWII, were riveters, welders and war factory workers of all kinds –including clerical workers. Included also were women who worked as streetcar conductors, short order cooks, security guards, pro baseball players, lumberjills, and much more as they took over men's jobs as the men were called to fight. Women also volunteered for the war effort as USO or Red Cross volunteers, Civil Defense wardens, and Nurse Cadets. Women joined the service as Army WACs, Navy WAVES and more. Women also ran the family farm or business while the men were off fighting... and much, much more. We could not have won WWII without these women, and they are all considered Rosies!
Michigan Rosies is proud to announce that we are partnering with the National World War II Museum in New Orleans to preserve the names of the Rosies the Riveters of WWII.
When you register your Rosie with us, her name and information will be preserved in the archives of the National WWII Museum as a real Rosie the Riveter of WWII, and her story will reside in a secure place where she can inspire future generations.
