Rosie Stories Project!

by MICHIGAN ROSIES (ROSIE THE RIVETER ASSOCIATION OF MICHIGAN)

Share the story of your won family Rosie, with us... and with the world!

Submit words and digital photos of your own family Rose the Riveter to us at Michigan Rosies (and your Rosie does not have to be from Michigan!) and tell us what she did during WWII. Rosie Stories may include the story of Rosie's childhood, what she did during and after the war, how the war affected her and her family, and what her work during wartime meant to her, her family, and her descendants.

Keep in mind that Rosie the Riveter encompasses any woman who during WWII worked in the defense industry, for the government, served in the armed forces, or took over what was formerly a "man's job" to keep things running at home while the men were fighting overseas. Also, many women did important volunteer work during the war, and these women are considered to be Rosie the Riveter as well! So there are women who during WWII were riveters, welders, war factory workers of all kinds, streetcar conductors, short order cooks, security guards, pro baseball players, lumberjills, USO or Red Cross volunteers, Army WACs, Navy WAVES, ran the family farm... and more. All of these women did work that was critical to the war effort, and all are Rosies!

When you submit your Rosie Story to our archives, we then can share it online and via social media, so the world will know about your family Rosie!

Submit your Rosie Story to the Michigan Rosies Archives by contacting us through our website at www.michiganrosies.org.
