HOUSE N2 HOME INC

What started as a small group of friends responding to the needs of a single mom and her 3 children leaving a local Washtenaw County, MI, shelter, has grown to over 100 volunteers serving 35 agencies who refer to us for assistance when a client (individual or family) is transitioning from homelessness. Since our beginning in 2019, we have moved over 800 clients in, serving over 1,000 individuals. Anyone transitioning from homelessness, be that a shelter, their car, a tent, or couch surfing, can be referred to us for help. Our services are client driven. We go through a thorough intake interview finding out what things will make a house feel like a home. We then go back to our storage facility and pull together the needed items: everything from a sofa, dining table and chairs, to a potato peeler. Move in day is scheduled with input from the client, then the team loads the van, drives to the new apartment or house, unloads and sets everything up. The client returns for the big reveal. We also provide dinner for that evening, fresh flowers, home-baked cookies, and a gift card from Domino's Pizza. All things that say: Welcome Home!
