We encourage academic excellence amount African American students. We sponsor historical trips to places such as the White House, National Museums and local museums. We add cultural diversity in a region that is over 90% white. We promote inclusion, peace, togetherness and reconciliation. We brought to the far NW Georgia Appalachian region, its first Equal Justice Initiative Marker for the National Lynching Museum, Montgomery, Alabama. We have the first non-Civil War, not-antebellum home museum in far NW Georgia. It is located at 309 N. Main Street LaFayette, Georgia. We host educational programs in the schools. Also, we are adding diversity by incorporating and sponsoring Native American and Latino Events. We sponsor art events, completed Walker County's first non-civil war mural on the external wall of a building. We believe that with education, diversity and remembrance in a positive manner, one can foster positive relationships. We are in the process of development of an African American Memorial and Community Park in LaFayette, Georgia.
