BUCKEY ONEILL CAMP NO 175 SONS OF SPANISH AMERICAN WAR VETERANS

The SSAWV is a patriotic and fraternal heritage organization. Founded in 1927, it is non-profit, non-partisan, and non-sectarian. The Sons of Spanish American War Veterans was organized in the Spring of 1927. We are the legal successors of the United Spanish American War Veterans.

Organization of the Buckey O'Neill Camp #175 took place in November of 2022, and was officially chartered in May of 2023. We are the first Sons of Spanish American War Veterans Camp in the State of Arizona in over 60 years and are named after the famed Rough Rider "Buckey" O'Neill who was shot at the Battle of San Juan Hill. We not only work on the marking of Spanish American War Veteran graves, but also research the burials of these veterans within the state, their contributions to the state, and are dedicated to the preservation of their history.
