Our Goal
To provide a fully accessible family retreat for combat wounded veterans and their families helping them to discover a new normal for a healthier reintegration when they return home.

A Gift from You to Our Nation’s Veterans
On April 10, 2012, SSG Travis Mills , US Army 82nd Airborne, was severely injured on his third tour of duty in Afghanistan by an IED (improvised explosive device), losing portions of both arms and both legs. He is one of only five quadruple amputees from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to survive such extensive injuries. Travis has a special strength of character and personality which helped him to rehabilitate quickly and inspire other wounded soldiers to do the same.

As wars fade from the headlines, the needs of our veterans and their families continue to grow. One of our veteran family shared, “You just don't know how wonderful it is to see friends that we made in some of the most stressful times of our lives. It is amazing to see the kids grow up and the guys remaining active. Getting to socialize and catch up in a place like Maine, rather than back at Walter Reed, is a reminder of how far they have come.
