United Way of Central Maryland’s economic advancement programs help people who are struggling to get and keep a steady career that pays the bills by removing obstacles in their way.
Through instruction, training, career mentoring, and apprenticeships, we put people on track to gain the self-sufficiency we all desire and deserve—and that will allow them to attain a stable, healthy life for themselves and their families.
As part of our economic advancement work, United Way’s WorkWays program is a comprehensive employee/employer engagement program designed to transform and redefine relationships between employers and talent and create more equitable working environments.
To support United Way’s mission to create economic opportunities for all, we created Workforce Leadership Academy. United Way’s Workforce Leadership Academy is a platform for local leaders to collaboratively create shared solutions for economic opportunity for all.
