Planes of Fame is a world renowned aviation museum. Our Mission: to preserve aviation history, inspire interest in aviation, educate the public and honor aviation veterans and pioneers. Founded in 1957, it was the first aviation museum on the West Coast. The Museum’s aircraft were saved from the scrap heap by Planes of Fame founder Ed Maloney at a time when no thought was given to the history destroyed every day in smelters across the nation.

With over 150 aircraft on display at the main facility in Chino, California and a satellite facility in Valle-Grand Canyon, Arizona, the Museum aircraft collection spans the history of flight from the 1896 Chanute Hang Glider to the space age.
