Spring Reins of Life is dedicated to promoting psychological healing, emotional well-being and personal growth using the skills of mental health professionals and the assistance of horses. For thousands of years there has been a unique bond between humans and horses, it is our mission to enhance and leverage this bond to reach groups of individuals who are suffering from the effects of moderate to severe trauma impact. There is zero riding involved, you need zero horse experience to benefit. We are not teaching horsemanship but rather fostering personalized coping skills that become life-man-ship as SRoL is in the business of rebuilding and saving lives.
Spring Reins of Life is a volunteer-run nonprofit which provided programming services for groups of trauma survivors utilizing EAP (equine-assisted psychotherapy) in a solution focused setting where 'talking about it' is not necessary. SRoL is committed to providing an alternative space for veterans, women, teens, children and other trauma recovery populations to explore finding personalized coping skills with the guidance of horses. Our goal is to offer group format therapy sessions to participants free of any cost and this is accomplished by the dedicated volunteers at SRoL.
There are several options where SRoL would benefit from your volunteer support of time and expertise. Volunteers are the lifeline here! Either on-site at the farm caring for the horses and donkeys (physical labor), remote administrative supports (online and local community advocacy), or even in the board room.
Since March 16, 2020 - it has been a challenging climb to 'get back to normal' yet we are still here! We are still dedicated to this mission, and there is a growing trauma based mental health crisis in America - We Can Help. Spring Reins of Life can provide miracles with dedicated volunteers supporting the horses, donkeys, and facilitation team of professionals - are you interested in quietly helping to save lives?
We proudly share that SRoL has served more than 3,000 participants in New Jersey since opening our arena gates in June 2012.
