TULSA GLASS BLOWING STUDIO INC

TGS is an open access glass art studio providing opportunities for individuals and groups to experience and learn the art of hot and warm glass. Our youth and military veteran (VETri) outreach in the Tulsa community and surrounding area drive our mission. Glass art is unique in that it not only teaches an age old art form, but it also provides an opportunity for the student to enhance his/her communication skills, focus, team work, self-esteem, and creativity. Glass art has on one more than one occasion provided a focus for individuals unsure of what path they might pursue in life and helped direct them to complete school and become good citizens within the community. In addition the team aspect of the glass art process has provided a sense of hope and community to our military veterans who have returned to civilian life and experienced isolation or a sense of not having a place in society due to the traumatic experiences often experienced during deployment. Camaraderie and a sense of belonging is one of the most notable outcomes of the VETri program.
