Uplifting Families

by FRIENDS OF THE ORMOND BEACH PUBLIC LIBRARY INC

A wide variety of Children's and Family programs are offered free on a daily basis, with the library traveling to underserved areas to meet families where they are. Our programs not only include emergent literary skills, but also include classes for homeschoolers and STREAM-based programs to introduce technology and job skills to children and families. Our Social Worker in the Library connects families to valuable resources available locally state-wide and federally. We also provide language learning software and classes to support ESL needs, connects breadwinners with potential employers, hosts culinary labs to teach adults food handling skills, offers virtual High School classes to adults, networks with Veteran service, hosts local election as a polling place, and supports the community during times of emergency, such as with hurricanes and the recent pandemic.
