Inside Health Institute (IHI): A Transformative Approach to Holistic Healthcare
At Inside Health Institute (IHI), we stand in stark contrast to the traditional healthcare system that works for only some and leaves too many behind. Our mission is to create a future where client-directed, humanistic, and social-emotional care aren’t just concepts, but the core of healthcare delivery and education.
Founded in 2015, IHI is a holistic nonprofit dedicated to offering “Pay What You Can” access to counseling, naturopathic medicine, and community health education programs. We serve historically marginalized and at-risk populations, including low-income individuals, seniors, veterans, people with disabilities, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ communities. We provide services throughout the Puget Sound Region, with virtual access extending to all of Washington State.
Our main office is in Bothell, WA, where we serve King and Snohomish Counties through both in-person and video care visits. With a focus on accessibility, we provide over $180,000 annually in service discounts through.
One of our signature programs, Fun With Friends, serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, offering them a unique, community-driven environment for health education, mental health support, leadership development, nutrition, and movement. This program exemplifies our belief in the power of creative community building as a pathway to healing.
We believe healthcare is a fundamental right, not a privilege, and we strive to break down barriers that prevent access for at-risk populations—who disproportionately face worse health outcomes. Our innovative model is built on collaboration, not just with patients but also with key partners like Verdant Health Commission, YWCA, Bastyr University, and Northwest University (we are the only practicum site for students that is non-denominational/inclusive). These collaborations allow us to offer whole-person care and subacute (not emergency) behavioral health services to low-resources and unhoused people.
IHI is more than just a provider of healthcare; we are a movement, ensuring that everyone, regardless of background or financial situation, can receive the holistic care they deserve. Our goal is simple: to make life-saving healthcare and mental health support available, accessible, and sustainable for all. We are redefining the healthcare landscape by putting people first—and our partnerships ensure that we continue to do so with compassion, dignity, and unwavering commitment.
