Honor Home- Women's Campus

by AXESS FAMILY SERVICES INC

On June 12, Women Veterans Day, Ohio’s first Honor Home for women veterans opened its doors in Stark County, offering a long-overdue safe haven for homeless female veterans and their children. Designed to meet the distinct needs of women who’ve served, Honor Home provides more than just a place to sleep. It offers stability, connection to Veterans Affairs healthcare, and assistance with benefits, discharge upgrades, and other barriers to independence. The campus includes two houses: one for mothers and children, with bunk beds and a playground, and another for single women- each designed to offer comfort, healing, and a chance to rebuild.

Unlike their male counterparts, many female veterans experience homelessness due to domestic violence, making the need for trauma-informed support essential. The Honor Home was three years in the making and brought to life by a committed community determined to provide women veterans with what they deserve: dignity, care, and a path forward. But the work isn’t done. Honor Home still needs furniture, food, and community support to continue serving those who’ve already given so much. Your workplace donation helps make this healing space possible.
