Hartford Sylvia Encinas Elementary, home of the Huskies, was built in 1957. It is the oldest elementary school in the Chandler Unified District that is still open. Hartford is located in the heart of the City of Chandler.
Hartford educates students from preschool through sixth grade. There are approximately 780 students enrolled. Hartford has a full-time Parent Liaison, Behavioral Specialist and Curriculum Specialist. The Parent Liaison coordinates parental education and involvement activities through the Parent Resource Room. During the 2012 school year, one of Hartford’s teachers earned the Rodel Exemplary Teacher Award.
