Helping people help cats. That's what we do. It started with a tattooed, wild-haired lady - our founder, Amy Bolton - deciding that more could be done for cats in Nebraska. Not just ANY cat, but those cats that were otherwise overlooked. Our community cats. Those cats that you see darting under a porch, hiding in a shed - or hollering all night because they look for three things - food, shelter and uh, well...ya know (that thing about the birds and the bees? Well...cats are REALLY good at it!).
After a year of TNR, learning from Nebraska's best and most passionate trappers, stopping feline overpopulation and preventing the unnecessary and heartbreaking deaths of kittens could only be solved one way. We keep rescuing the kittens, but now we don't leave without the female cat that had those babies. Many times, it's cats under a year old (as young as 4 months) having litters. We save lives every, single day. We can't get to as many places as we'd like, but we go when we can, and where we can.
The Purrpose - It's About the Cats was on the ground in Wymore, Nebraska with Beatrice Humane Society getting down to business trapping for 3 straight days with other trappers. 185 cats were spayed and neutered in ONE day. The largest spay/neuter event in Nebraska and Kansas to date. Guess what...we want to do it again. And BIGGER.
Today, we help our veterans, individuals overcoming domestic violence situations, those that are homeless or near homeless spay/neuter their cat so they can either find or maintain their homes because of animal requirements, and we do it for the big picture. Slowing reproduction of personally owned pets, reduces the number of abandoned and left behind cats. We will make a difFURence.
