Goodwill Southern California has an extensive track record of providing customized workforce development programs and pathways to economic empowerment across Los Angeles and equipping individuals for high demand careers. Goodwill Southern California has respectfully engaged and assisted the “hardest to serve” populations since 1916. We strive to create equity through economic self-sufficiency for all, but specifically targets unique populations including individuals experiencing homelessness, justice involved, veterans, the uniquely abled, disconnected youth, and low income individuals through our network of employment centers and a large social enterprise system consisting of retail stores, donation centers, e-commerce, training enclaves, and several business lines throughout Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. Goodwill Southern California employment services help individuals overcome barriers and achieve long-term success in the workforce. We provide sector-based skills training and work-based learning to equip individuals with competencies and certifications needed for high growth careers. By creating a pipeline between program participants and employers seeking skilled workers, Goodwill Southern California offers job placement assistance and connects individuals with local businesses. Relatedly, our staff actively connects with local employers, understanding their workforce needs and developing partnerships that create employment opportunities for program participants. Additionally, Goodwill Southern California provides supportive services (i.e. rent, counseling, groceries, childcare, transportation, etc.) that help individuals participate in training programs and maintain employment. Goodwill Southern California leverages strong strategic partnerships to form a network, which actively meets the needs of those with barriers and challenges to employment in obtaining quality jobs, resulting in economic mobility, equitable outcomes, and inclusive economic growth for all.
