In working toward a future where everyone in our region who needs stable housing can find and afford it, in addition to continuing to provide our array of services, we must also work in collaboration with community partners, including local governments, to address the crisis of affordable housing.
Stable and affordable housing is a critical social determinant of health and a foundational building block that must be part of cross-sector work to address health inequities. MCCAC recognizes that people experiencing houselessness often need supportive services to successfully access and maintain housing long-term, and we are working with partners to develop and advocate for increased affordable housing, including transitional and long-term supportive housing with wraparound services co-located on site.
