Scope Screenings is an underground film festival in Seattle dedicated to uplifting underrepresented creators, particularly BIPOC and other marginalized voices in the Pacific Northwest. Our mission is to disrupt the traditional film festival ecosystem by providing access to those who are typically excluded, creating an inclusive platform for these creators to share their films, connect with other artists, and access valuable resources and community support. We are committed to making film spaces accessible to those who might otherwise find them out of reach or unfamiliar, breaking down barriers and fostering an inclusive environment. By hosting dynamic, party-like monthly events that blend film, music, and live interactions, we create a space where diverse voices can shine and audiences can engage with new and exciting artistic perspectives. We currently work with around 100 filmmakers a year and are focused on building a strong community of artists who can connect, collaborate on projects, and support one another. Additionally, we aim to expose the greater community to new forms of art and film, increasing the number of people who get involved with the arts and cultivating a broader appreciation for creative expression.
