EQUINE SAFE HAVEN

We use experienced horses, mules, and donkeys to teach:
Basic horsemanship and carriage driving
Leadership, mindfulness, and personal development
Physical fitness and therapeutic activities
Compassion and emotional healing
Programs are designed for:
Veterans
People with disabilities
Seniors 65 and over
Economically disadvantaged individuals
All instructions are provided at minimal or no cost.
We are not a traditional Rescue or Sanctuary
Unlike typical rescues, we do not accept owner-surrendered animals or operate on high-volume intake. Our mission is multifaceted and education-centric, with rescue being a means—not the sole focus. Select equines may be rehomed privately or retired permanently based on our assessment of each individual equine.

We are a charity educational outreach that has two locations (One in Deming NM and the other in Whitesboro TX) that provides visitors to the Ranch a chance to experience equines: Horses, Mules and Donkeys. We provide a way for them to interact with the animals that provides healing, teaches life skills, confidence and leadership.

People come from all over the United States and the world while they are driving through with their RVs, and can stay. We have classes at no cost, for those that are economically and/or physically disadvantaged. We teach throughout the year: horsemanship and carriage driving. Once they learn they can participate in competitions, parades and events all over the Southwest and beyond.

Equines have a healing way about them when a human interacts with them. Equines are good for mental health. We have seen individuals turn their outlook on life around. We recently purchased a wheelchair accessible carriage and have a few students in wheelchairs that are learning to drive.
