About the Organization
Founded in 2015 by volunteers from the Salvaţi Roşia Montană Campaign, Declic has grown into an independent community of over 1.2 million engaged citizens across Romania and the diaspora.
As the first and largest online campaigning platform in Romania, Declic combines digital tools with grassroots activism to challenge injustice, defend human rights, protect the environment, and hold power to account.
Mission
To transform everyday citizens into a powerful collective force that influences legislation, shapes social policy, and ensures civic participation — both online and offline — for a fairer, more democratic society.
Key Programs & Impact
Mobilizing 1 million+ members to sign petitions, launch campaigns, and organize actions on issues like environmental protection, good governance, and social justice.
Enabling community-led campaigns through the “Campania Mea” platform, where citizens initiate petitions and drive change locally and nationally.
Influencing policy and public debate via major campaigns, e.g., demanding a national cancer plan, protecting national parks from hydro-projects, reforming pension legislation.
Maintaining full independence from government and large corporate funding; financed by donations from its community and transparent about how funds are used.
