HCMOAA SCHOLARSHIP FUND

•Promote the purposes and objectives of MOAA •Foster fraternal relationships among, protect the rights and interests of, and provide useful services and information to retired, active duty and former officers of the uniformed services, their dependents and survivors •Advocate for a strong National defense •Serve the greater Huntsville and Redstone Arsenal communities Our Chapter is comprised of active duty, reserve and National Guard, former and retired military officers from all services. Our Chapter goals include recognizing the top ROTC / JROTC cadets at area high schools and colleges, providing scholarship funds to area college / college-bound students, and participating in community events such as a Memorial Day wreath ceremony, a summer BBQ at the Tut Fann Veterans Home, and Veterans Day / Heroes’ Week activities.

Each year, in conjunction with the Redstone Arsenal Military Retirees Appreciation Days, we run a large Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament at The Links at Redstone Arsenal. 100% of the net from this all volunteer tournament is disbursed as scholarships to area graduating seniors, current area college students, and spouses of military members attending college. The cost of tournament entry is kept low to allow the maximum participation by veterans and retirees. The majority of the proceeds from the tournament result from hole sponsors and silent auctions we hold using the most generous donations of area and national companies. In addition, we rely on direct donations to supplement the income from the fundraising golf tournament.
