Platefull is technically a food bank but we are not a bank. We are an efficient food distributor that distributes the most food to the most people the most efficient way. Since we are a mobile food bank, last Thanksgiving we distributed 250 turkeys in two hours, distributing to food banks with no turkeys. During two weeks in Dec we picked up 14,000 pounds and all the food was distributed within a few hours. We distribute food to over 1,000 people a week including a 100 bed men’s shelter and over 100 family members through our personal clients. Platefull’s leadership has 12+ years experience with immediate responses to stores or donors, having food to the right person in need within hours.
We serve clients, seniors, families, veterans, low-income housing, churches, schools, safe-parking, homeless shelters and day centers, transitional housing, and other food banks. We pick up food from donors and deliver to our clients within a few hours with help from our wonderful volunteers. Platefull is 100% volunteer run, there are no paid employees. Every penny donated goes directly to helping serve our community.
