Sudan is on the brink of civil war, as a violent clash for power threatens the lives of people in the country. The conflict between the SAF and RSF erupted on April 15, 2023, primarily impacting Khartoum but also affecting other regions, including Darfur, where mass killings and displacement have led to reports of ethnic cleansing. Over 14,000 people have been killed, and about 6.4 million have been displaced within Sudan, making it the largest internal displacement crisis globally. More than 8 million people have fled their homes, with children comprising about half of the displaced population. Sudan now faces the largest child displacement crisis in the world. The Sudan Emergency Fund is a global initiative that aims to provide immediate assistance to the people of Sudan who are in dire need of humanitarian aid. The fund relieves those affected by war, poverty, and natural disasters. It has a long-standing commitment to Sudan and has significantly contributed to the country.
