Resurgence PPG provides disabled and adaptive veterans with the experience of personal flight through the sport of powered paragliding. Our programs engage the adaptive veteran community by sponsoring the training of veteran candidates through the flight training process. Powered paragliding is one of the most accessible forms of personal aviation in the United States. Without the requirement for a medical certificate, which is a limiting factor for most veteran candidates, powered paragliding is the best means to help our candidates reach their goal of solo flight.
Our programs will identify candidates and then sponsor their entire training process to get them into the air. We fully fund the tuition, travel, lodging and per diem throughout the course of their training. This results in a zero cost experience for these candidates as they transition from spectator to pilot over a two week time period.
We have found our programs to be both therapeutic and rehabilitative for physical and emotional challenges faced by our veterans. We have been fortunate enough to sponsor candidates that have suffered from PTSD, broken backs, paralysis, single leg amputation, double leg amputation, and even stroke. It is amazing to see individual barriers being conquered as these individuals take flight.
