SPECIAL LIBERTY PROJECT INC

The Special Liberty Project creates experiences through nature based, therapeutic programs and activities in natural settings designed to provide calm, healing support and skill development. The combination of environment, nurturing programs and fellowship helps each cope with the daily struggles after losing a family member or while struggling with wounds from service. Veterans also regain the much-needed camaraderie they miss most from their time in the military.
In 2020, the Special Liberty Project expanded its footprint and services to the East Coast with a new property in Franklin, North Carolina. The new “Farm and Retreat Center” will be Special Liberty’s national headquarters and the organization’s only complete nature-based facility serving Gold Star Families, Healing Veterans and Suicide Spouses from across the United States.
Founded by Cory and Jessica Merritt, this Navy family is driven by their mutual passion for giving back to their fellow military families.
