The New Life Food Pantry has been serving anyone in need for over 15 years. We became a 501c[3] charity in 2016. Through the generosity of donors and grants we were able to expand our pantry by purchasing and refitting shipping containers to serve as additional storage for food. We have also moved our distribtuion to an area that is handicapped accessible so we can better serve our patrons with mobility challenges.
We are pleased to offer a client-choice model, so no food is wasted and our patrons can enjoy a "shopping-like" experience. We even compost any food that spoils or cannot be distributed, so there is almost no waste. In 2025 we distributed over 306,000 lbs. of food that would have been discarded, serving over 11,700 people in need. This year we are seeing our numbers increase, and are exploring new opportunities for food donations. We are confident that no one who comes to us will go hungry.
Our immediate goal is to securing funding to rebuild our outdoor gazebo, which was destroyed during the severe snowstorm this past January. For years, this gazebo served as a vital shelter for our pantry patrons—many of whom wait outdoors for food distribution in all types of weather. It provided protection from snow, rain, falling acorns and extreme temperatures, helping us maintain safe, dignified, and orderly service. Unfortunately, the weight of the storm caused the structure to collapse, leaving our guests exposed while the need for food assistance remains high.
