The Texas State Autism Summer Camp is the first camp of its kind in Sm Marcos to specifically focus on children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). It is run by graduate and undergraduate students under the direction of faculty from the Department of Health and Human Performance. The goal of the program is to train undergraduate and graduate students on how to provide assistance to campers during fun-filled activities, encourage development, and emphasize the importance of communication and socialization skills.
