The Center is the only agency in South Mississippi providing comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence, including education and prevention. The Center provides necessary and lifesaving services to assist in the recovery of traumatic victimization and works with the community to further address the needs of domestic violence victims, including the often underserved Vietnamese and Hispanic populations, veterans or enlisted military personnel, and elderly victims who often face unique barriers. The Center currently operates two domestic violence shelters, the Gulf Coast Center for Nonviolence in Biloxi and Adrienne’s House in Pascagoula. Services include: emergency shelter, counseling, case management, transportation, children’s program, therapeutic preschool, parenting assistance, outreach education program, nonresidential program, court advocacy, free civil legal services, court accompaniment, agency collaboration, and specialized training for the community. Our agency’s major objectives include providing direct services to adult and child victims of domestic violence in order to enable them to recover from their victimization as well as educating the community on the dynamics of domestic violence.
