Founded in 1982, Dogs Inc began as a guide dog school to assist those with vision loss. Since then, our scope of assistance has expanded to include veterans with PTSD or other physical disabilities and military families grieving the loss of a loved one in military service. Our approach begins with selective breeding and early socialization and continues through personalized training programs. Depending on their career path, our dogs are trained in over 20–40 specialized skills. Each dog is carefully matched with a student and Guide and Service teams are supported through our Alumni Support Program, which provides food, veterinary care, and follow-up training. Dogs Inc provides all of its services at no cost to recipients or their families and receives no government funding.
We serve more than 400 graduates across the United States and continue to place more than 100 dogs each year. With over 350 people on our waitlist, we are committed to expanding access and excellence in working dog partnerships. Dogs Inc has the distinction of being dually accredited by two premier global accreditation bodies: the International Guide Dog Federation (IGDF) and Assistance Dogs International (ADI).
